How we created a network capable of transforming climate and social challenges into digital solutions that serve the public interest.
The Real Problem
Brazil brings together two assets that are still rarely found together: a growing tech community and urgent public challenges that require data, intelligence, and the ability to scale.
On the one hand, there are developers and digital professionals capable of building complex solutions, but who still have few opportunities to apply their talents to climate and socio-environmental issues. On the other hand, there are organizations and institutions that have a deep understanding of these problems but do not always have the technical capacity needed to turn them into digital solutions.
The challenge was to build a permanent bridge between these two ecosystems.
The Strategic Shift
Instead of providing organizations with off-the-shelf technologies, we decided to empower those who can build, adapt, maintain, and scale new solutions.
We created Devs de Impacto as a framework for mobilization, applied training, and experimentation. It is a model that begins by curating real-world challenges, connects developers to social and climate contexts, and combines artificial intelligence, topic-specific mentoring, and technical expertise to transform understanding into functional prototypes.
The hackathon isn't the end goal. It's the mechanism that brings together energy, knowledge, and collaboration to spark new solutions.
The movement that has been set in motion
Real Problems Before Solutions
Each edition was based on challenges developed in collaboration with experts and organizations directly involved in these issues. Social rights, climate, education, civic engagement, and food security were treated as complex systems, not as abstract technological exercises.
An ecosystem centered on talent
Developers, experts, mentors, organizations, judges, and technology partners began working within a single innovation framework dedicated to the public interest.
Learning by Doing
Participants worked in intensive 36-hour sessions that combined contextualization, development, the responsible use of AI, and technical and impact mentoring.
415 talents mobilized. 113 digital solutions and prototypes.
In its first cycle, Devs de Impacto held five events—in São Paulo, Curitiba, João Pessoa, Rio de Janeiro, and as a nationwide online event.

Technology and resources put to work to make an impact
Participation was free, broadening access for students, young professionals, people in career transitions, and talented individuals from different regions of the country to tools, networks, and opportunities for innovation.

The consequence
The first cycle of Devs de Impacto did not transform 113 prototypes into definitive climate or social impact, and we do not equate creation with implementation.
The proven progress lies in building installed capacity: more technically qualified people have come to understand public challenges, organizations have found a way to translate problems into digital possibilities, and a pipeline of solutions has been created that can move forward to incubation, testing, and institutional adoption.
Devs de Impacto has shown that the Brazilian tech community is a force that has yet to be fully mobilized for climate action and the public interest.
Our role: to design and implement an infrastructure capable of transforming talent into capability, capability into solutions, and solutions into new avenues for impact.
